LaFollette, TN - Tennova Healthcare - LaFollette welcomes Derrick Galapon, M.D., FACS, as a general surgeon at Tennova General Surgery - LaFollette. Dr. Galapon brings more than 35 years of experience to the table and will be offering a range of general surgery services to the community. Dr. Galapon is a board-certified physician and U.S. Army veteran with more than 35 years of experience. Before joining Tennova General Surgery - LaFollette, Dr. Galapon served as a general surgeon for Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, TN, and Cumberland Surgery in Clarksville, TN. He began his medical journey with the U.S. Army, interning and completing his residency with Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by roles as flight surgeon, staff general surgeon and eventually, chief of general surgery. He received his medical degree with the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD.
“I enjoy consistently educating myself so I may provide the best possible care for my patients and use this knowledge to offer the best available options for each of them based on their specific needs,” says Dr. Galapon. “When discussing surgery, I take time to explain the benefits and risks and encourage my patients to take an active role in their care.”
